Frequently Asked Questions about Intra-V Services

INTRA|V has the leading IV therapy clinics in the Houston area.

With locations in The Woodlands, Spring, and Cinco Ranch, Katy, we have been open since the start of 2017. We were one of the first IV bars in the Houston and greater Houston area.

Our team of professional nursing staff is here to answer any questions you may have about IV therapy, IM shots, blood testing, or any of our other services. Here are a few questions that we are frequently asked.

Where do we get our vitamins?

All of the vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that go into our vitamin IV infusions are sourced from accredited nationwide compounding pharmacies that comply will all FDA laws.

Who administers the IVs?

We are regulated by the Texas Board of Medicine and Texas Nursing Board. All of our IV drips are administered by licensed nurses with all the appropriate certifications and training.

How long does it take?

We offer two different sizes of IV bags that we administer, 500mL and 1000mL. Both bags have the same amount of vitamins but different amounts of fluid and electrolytes. The 500mL IV drip usually takes between 20-40 minutes, and the 1000mL IV usually takes 30-60 minutes. We do, however, regulate the speed of the IV infusion to make sure the customer is comfortable.

How often can I drip?

This depends on your own personal health, we would recommend once a week, but we have different plans to suit your needs. We offer the option of doing weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly treatments. If you are coming in specifically because you have the onset of a cold, you need a boost of energy, or you are taking a long-haul flight, then coming in for one infusion is fine too.

Do the Infusions hurt?

Our staff of registered nurses are well trained in starting IVs and will do their best to help you feel comfortable. The needle we use is small and only penetrates the skin 1-2mm then the catheter is slipped down the needle into the vein, and the needle is withdrawn. This means that there is no needle in while the IV is being administered so moving around isn’t a problem.

How long will the effects last?

This may vary for each individual due to metabolism, lifestyle, diet and variable daily metabolic needs. We have seen effects last up to 4 weeks on patients with particular symptoms. However, on average we have seen the effects last approximately 5-7 days.

When will I feel the effects?

IV is the quickest way of getting vitamins and minerals into our bodies so in most instances you can feel the effects by the time you finish your treatment.

How do I prepare for my appointment?

Make sure you drink plenty of water before you come in for your appointment, this will ensure that your veins are pronounced and makes the catheter easier to insert.

Do we accept insurance?

Unfortunately, no we do not accept insurance in either of our Houston locations at this time. We do, however, accept HSA & FSA as forms of payment.
